I hand coloured this black and white photo in photoshop, from another tutorial. I think Audrey looks rather lovely in flat layers... shame the original image was such low resolution... we shall definitely be doing more of these.

Another drama by the kitchen sink tonight...

I made this today... it's an edited Avoncroft photo from the Prefab... I used a couple of tutorials on cross processing that I was reading about at work. Yes, I has a job now... it's pretty cool... I has a desk and a fan.

This one reminds me of a couple of songs from the Long Blonde's album "Someone to drive you home", so we might turn this into a lyrical interpretation at some point.

Private view was good, can't wait to get my work back. Today I am thinking I should have uploaded this little doodle for IF's "satellite". It's an old one. Never mind. Today I drew these magic beans whilst contemplating this weeks theme "Giant". The little roots are nice I think.

Tis private view day... I'm nervous, which is silly. Tis only college. This is my little coat painting I made for exam prep, in honour of the day.

Also, it's 1st July... how did that happen?

Libsly Squibs

Just a quick one today. This is my cat, she is very skinny. I drew a few of these while she was sleeping (and dreaming). I have some more in pencil. I think they would make a nice group, she kept moving a little... maybe later.

This weeks theme is satellite, like the Eurovision song. I hope I spelt it right... I especially like the little boat. Can't wait for friday!

I've gotta tell you...

Oh my. I've had this idea in the back of my mind, every time I hear the song, for over a year. I think we likes it.

I thought my week of holiday would improve creativity but I've found it harder and harder to draw or make anything I like over the last week... longer than that actually... maybe this is a turning point.

This is an odd one for me. I don't usually use much colour, and we definitely don't do coloured pencils... I don't like the texture....

Also, it would be helpful if I could draw a straight line (with or without a ruler). This is something we will work on.

That's Alphonse Mucha (the artist, not the subject.) I would like to attempt my own Art Nouveau drawing but I'm a bit scared. How do you compete with that? Also, we've taken to a bit of Chopin

I have decided to take a more relaxed approach to making things... I'm new to this whole "drawing for pleasure" nonsense.

I was sincerely tempted to upload only the bottom half of this one... clouds don't really work in fine liner (not the way I've done them at least)... and I don't think I'm brave enough to upload at Virtual Paintout... maybe the next one.

That's fine liner and felt tip by the way... we likes the green bit especially.

The emotion, it was electric.

Books... they're not really groundbreaking... I guess it's a start...

its a photo (ie hasn't been scanned) hence the funny shadows in places... I seem to have lost the ability to draw in perspective... tis a problem... also I havn't drawn in ages (is it really almost a month?!) so it felt a bit funny...

apart from being slightly wonky I'm kinda happy with this one... especially the top one and the big book second from bottom... maybe we does it again sometime... it's desperate for some colour... or some water at least...

Stats exam tomorrow... I can't stay...

P.s. I think the lack of sentences is to do with having fulfilled the whole getting up earlier resolution... I guess it has it's drawbacks as well as it's benefits...

How can you sleep at a time like this?

No time to draw again today, (I need to start getting up earlier), infact there's so little sketching taking place on this blog that I'm considering changing the name. It's rather sad.

In the meantime, I've developed somewhat of a liking for Cole and Son wallpaper... we likes this very much precious.

On a separate note, a reworked logo for the Celebs Cricket Club. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Going to clean my room (maybe).

Been museum-ing today at Avoncroft and saw some very lovely things. There's much to be drawn over the next few days I feel... when I'm not revising maths that is... it's amazing how much creativity can come out of a little procrastination.
